…………… Apanteles edithlopezae Fern dez-Triana, sp. n.?Jose L. FernanSCR7 site dez-Triana et al. / ZooKeys 383: 1?65 (2014)carlosrodriguezi species-group This group comprises three species, characterized by hypopygium with relatively short fold where no pleats (or at most one weak pleat) are visible, ovipositor sheaths very short (0.4?.5 ?as long as metatibia), and relatively small size (body length and fore wing length not surpassing 2.5 mm). Another Mesoamerican species, A. aidalopezae shares that combination of characters, but can be separate from the carlosrodriguezi species-group because of its white pterostigma, transparent or white fore wing veins, and rather elongate glossa. The group is strongly supported by the Bayesian molecular analysis for two of its three component species (PP: 0.99, Fig. 1), however, A. carlosrodriguezi clusters apart and future studies may find it is better to split it. Morphological data (especially shape of hypopygium and ovipositor sheaths length) suggest that the species might be placed on a new genus on their own when the phylogeny of Microgastrinae is better resolved. Because that is beyond the scope of this paper, we describe the species under Apanteles he best arrangement at the moment. Hosts: Mostly gregarious on Crambidae; but A. carlosrodriguezi is a solitary parasitoid on Elachistidae and possible Choreutidae. All described species are from ACG.
