Product Name :
Alginic Acid, low viscosity 100-300 cP

Classification :
Polysaccharide / Alginic Acid, low viscosity 100-300 cP

Description :
Alginic acid is a linear copolymer with homopolymeric blocks of (1-4)-linked -D-mannuronate (M) and its C-5 epimer L-guluronate (G) residues, respectively, covalently linked together in different sequences or blocks. The monomers may appear in homopolymeric blocks of consecutive G-residues (G-blocks), consecutive M-residues (M-blocks) or alternating M and G-residues (MG-blocks). With metals such as sodium and calcium, its salts are known as alginates. Alginate can be used in hydrogels, biocomposite, wound dressing, and dehydrating additive.

Properties:
Alginic acid, is a naturally occurring polysaccharide found in brown algae. It is hydrophilic. With metals such as sodium and calcium, its salts are known as alginates. Its color ranges from white to yellowish-brown and may appear as filamentous, granular, or powdered forms. Its typical molecular mass ranges from 10k to 600k; however alginate is often characterized and presented with viscosity, instead of molecular weight.

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
